How long does it take to get from Sydney to Tea Gardens?

Tea Gardens is an easy 2-2 ½ drive from Sydney up the M1 Motorway and Pacific Highway (A1).


How far from Tea Gardens to Port Stephens?

Port Stephens is the body of water between Tea Gardens and Nelson Bay.  It is not a town.  Tea Gardens is five minutes drive to Jimmy’s Beach which is on the northern shores of Port Stephens.


How far from Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay?

There is a ferry service that runs between Tea Gardens and Nelson Bay daily which takes between 40 and 45 minutes or you can drive which takes between 1 and 1.5 hours.


What is there to do in Tea Gardens?

Waterways -Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest is part of the Great Lakes region.  With pristine beaches, rivers and lakes there is approximately 145 kilometres of stunning coastline and crystal clear waterways including the Myall Lakes, Myall River, Port Stephens and the Tasman Ocean. This area is perfect for boating and fishing.

Myall Lakes National Park - There is also the Myall Lakes National Park with over 280 bird species within the National Park – the same number as Kakadu!  Ideal for bird watching or bushwalking.

Dolphin Watching in Port Stephens - Port Stephens is home to over 100 bottle-nosed dolphins.  You can take a ferry cruise to Nelson Bay and “spot the dolphins”.

Whale watching in Port Stephens - Between May and November each year Port Stephens comes alive as the whales begin their migration north to give birth to their young.  Talk to us about doing a whale watching cruise.
